I cross checked the results of this meter against two other meters that I own and the readings were consistently ten points lower those of the other meters. All blood samples were taken at the same time. The other two meters agree with each other, only differing by one or two points. The test with the control solution was OK. I wanted a very small meter to carry with me since I have just gone on insulin but I cannot trust the results this meter gives. I am trying to return it.

I like this unit just fine. For free, I can't complain about the price. It works great, no trouble, no worries. The strips allows for a very tiny blood sample and a truly painless, no bruising, finger-stick, using the recommended lancets. I only use it once a week, at best, because my health condition is not a serious one at all. I'm only at the borderline stages. No complaints about this monitor.
Accuracy ? Very questionable.

I've been using this brand to try and establish a no-carb diet. The doctors office gives them out free so I thought why not use it. Well, three different meters later I'm looking for another brand. After following all the instructions and even calling the mfg twice I get readings of 160, 230, 140 and 90 all on the same hand with in a few seconds of each test. Next day I get 140, 170. A few days later 125, 156. I'm lucky it's type 2. If I were using insulin I would be in the nut house.

I bought this meter for my Mom who is in her late 50's. I wanted to get something for her that was extremely simple. She didn't need all the bells and whistles other meters had. Just something simple and accurate. She replaced her old TrueTrack, which had very low accuracy, with this meter, and she loves it. It is extremely easy to use. The user manual explains everything she needed to know about it, and the accuracy is quite high. Overall, I would recommend this meter for someone who wants something discrete, simple, accurate, and easily transportable.
